Agailjhara Upazila: is an Upazila of Barisal District in the Division of Barisal, Bangladesh.
Geography:Agailjhara is located at 22.9667°N 90.1500°E . It has 30560 units of house hold and total area 161.82 km².
Demographics:As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Agailjhara has a population of 147343. Males constitute are 50.93% of the population, and females 49.07%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 76524. Agailjhara has an average literacy rate of 42.4% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.[1]
Administrative:==Agailjhara== has 5 Unions/Wards, 84 Mauzas/Mahallas, and 95 villages. There has a police station. One of the oldest School of Agailjhara is B H P Academy. It was established in 1919.
